We booked one of the rooms for a family get together, which involved different family from all over the UK and Australia. We were warmly welcomed and shown where our room was. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had roast beef, and my husband roast lamb and we ate everything. The selection of desserts was amazing, and my sticky chocolate and orange cake and double cream was amazing, as was my husband’s pavlova. They do not stint on portions. Staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The tipping ethos was explained to us when we were asked, which was nice to know as we always want to know those who assisted us were rewarded. All in all visit you won’t be disappointed.

On holiday in the area and booked for Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and good service. Food was tasty and fresh and the biggest slice of gateaux we’d ever seen for dessert! Cosy little pub, wood burner was a nice touch on a rainy day. Would highly recommend.
